To organize dance workshops in a time of economic recession is not an easy task. But, for us who are working or trying to work in contemporary dance and its education, this is not something new, because the recession in contemporary dance lasts from its beginnings. Considering the fact that there are never enough funds, you have to organize everything by yourself. So, this year, economic recession does not worry us, and for the first time we have four dance teachers, all of whom are coming to our workshop for the first time. Right at the beginning we have a guest from Sweden, very well known dancer, choreographer and teacher Rasmus Olme. We will just mention that he danced with "Ultima Vez" / W. Vandekeybus, he teaches his class at P.A.R.T.S. "Rosas", "Need Co.", Brussels, University of Dance, Stockholm, Impuls Tanz Vienna, etc. Then we have very renowned teacher from Amsterdam, of American origin, Hillary Blake Firestone who teaches at the School for New Dance Development (SNDO), Modern Theater Dance Department (MID) and Theaterschool Amsterdam (AHK). Of course, we did not forget our domestic powers, coming in the shape and form of Ana Mrak, who we think can offer a great dance workshop at this moment (she works as a guest teacher at the Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance).

This year we did not forget attractive jazz and very recent and popular hip hop dance techniques, which will be taught this time by our guest from Switzerland, Nadine Siebler. Her dance, choreographic and teaching career includes Los Angeles, New York, Paris and Zürich. We are convinced that this antirecession dance workshop will offer you abundance of dance, joy and pleasure, which our teachers will try to provide for you. But also thanks to the good conditions and atmosphere at the Istrian National Theatre which, this year as well, co-organizes the "Summer Dance Workshop".
