The Dance Company "Liberdance" was founded in 1979 by Rajko Pavlić, who is also its artistic director.
Two components prevail in the work of the Company: dance-and-education
and art-and-creative. Since the very beginning the Company commits
itself to professional education of its dance-and-education activity,
and creates a respectable professional education staff, which,
to a great number of dancers, offers a possibility of dance education
and possible professional recognition. In this context, the Company
organizes already traditional "Summer Dance Workshop"
in cooperation with the Istrian National Theatre, particularly
the International Youth Theatre Festival in Pula, and with the
financial help of the Department for Culture of the City of Zagreb.
So far the following persons have choreographed
within the Company: Robert Kljavin, Aleksandra Janeva and
Rajko Pavlić.
Composers: Tomislav Uhlik, Toni
Prug, Stanko Juzbašić, Masimo Brajković, Hrvoje Nikšić, Sven Pavlović
and Mate Matišić.
Domestic guest performances:
"Dance Week Festival" in Zagreb, "Zadar snova", "Split Summer Festival",
"Špancir fest" Varaždin, "Golden Lion" International Chamber Theatre Festival in Umag, Dance & Non-Verbal Theatre Festival in San Vincenti.

By the performance In the Mood
The Dance Company Liberdance offered nostalgic dance backward
view. In this way the project very successfully incorporated
itself in the contemporary world, and recent domestic trend,
based on restring of musical and scenic events from past.

VEČERNJI LIST

And the last word for moving expression of Rajko
Pavlić and his Liberdance ideally match past (traditional)
with present in the light of contemporary, urban choreographic
ritual. The explosion of rhythm and technique with no contractions,
thanks to the work relaxed Rosas-arms, excitingly follows
the same exciting folklore guidance of Jean marc Zelwer with
post-cataclysmic percussionist signs of Tambour de Bronx.

VEČERNJI LIST • High
Energy Movement
|
 |
It's a performance of a series of isolated movements
in expressed counterpoint of raw electronic music and primeval
singing where Rajko Pavlić is searching and finally finds
his "high energy movement". Its athletic acrobatic
dimension and sincere delight in the brisk communication system
of the beat per minute provokes reaction of additional movement
as a desire for dancing activation of the spectator.
